About the Translation
For a translation to do justice to the Quran and capture its elegance and vigor, it has to be accurate, smooth, eloquent, and accessible. Unlike most popular translations, The Clear Quran masterfully passes on all counts. To achieve accuracy, the translator has made use of the greatest and most celebrated works of old and modern tafsir (Quran commentaries), and shared the work with several Imams in North America for feedback and insight. For clarity, every effort has been made to select easy to understand words and phrases that reflect the beauty, flow, and power of the original text. Along with informative footnotes and Sura (chapter) introductions, verses have been grouped and titled based on their themes for a better understanding of the chapters, their main concepts, and internal coherence. Thanks to our dedicated team of scholars, editors, and proofreaders, we believe that what you are holding in your hands now is the finest translation of the Final Revelation.

Its message is considered timeless, even as it was revealed at a definite time in history. Countless scholars have studied and explained the meaning and the message of this book for many generations, and in many cases their understandings were shaped by the cultural and political forces around them. For the first time ever, the Qur’an has been translated and explained from the perspective of an American Muslim scholar. Yahiya Emerick, drawing upon the best in the classical Muslim tradition including such luminaries as Ibn Kathir, Zamakhshari, al-Ghazali, Ibn Taymiyyah, Razi and others, has crafted a thoroughly updated work emphasizing the historical and cultural background of the man who first taught this message – Muhammad, the son of ‘Abdullah, peace be upon him. The Qur’an A Translation for the 21st Century
By Adil Salahi
Paperback 455 Pages
Publisher: The Islamic Foundation
An Expressive and Moving New Translation of the Qur’an, Written in Simple and Straightforward Form For The 21st Century Reader.
About The Book
The Qur’an is God’s book, and He says that it sets things in clear and easy to understand language. Its rule throughout is brevity of expression and breadth of meaning. Yet, its literary excellence is far superior to anything Arabic has ever known.
Millions of people have learned its entirety by heart throughout every generation since it was first revealed. Nearly every Muslim memorises parts of it, and most recite a portion of it every day. No book, religious or otherwise, is read and recited or listened to as frequently as the Qur’an. Those who recite it in Arabic are always eager to do more, aware of its inimitable clarity, rhythm and brevity, yet modern English readers have had limited access to its meanings, with most reliant upon translations prepared in archaic English, unappealing to the contemporary reader.
Adil Salahi’s translation attempts to put the meanings of the Qur’an in clear modern English, making it easier for the twenty-first century reader to gather the full message of the Qur’an, without having to read numerous footnotes or resort to books of commentary.
